VMA's 2014: Best Dressed vs Worst Dressed

When I woke up this morning social media had been flooded with pictures from last nights VMA's. Being the type of gal who likes to take a nosy at the outfit choices, I decided to make a 'Best Dressed vs 'Worst Dressed' post, showing the outfits I like and disliked from the show last night. So, let's get started!


Best dressed:

Demi always manages to look amazing in anything she wears. From sweatpants and trainers to dresses and heels she always manages to look glam, and last night was no exception. The figure hugging scarlet dress looked amazing and showed off her curves perfectly. This is one of my favourite outfits Miss Lovato has worn to an award show.

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale rocked a two piece look; with a leather cropped cami and gorgeous print skirt. The newly established country singer looked elegant and pulled off the outfit to a T. I'd like to steal her wardrobe! Whether she's playing Aria in PLL or just being herself her outfit choices are always on point and for that, I'm very jealous.

Miley Cyrus looked casual yet classy with a shiny black leather two piece, certainly a lot classier then the outfit she opted for last year during her performance alongside Robin Thicke. Even though she kept her outfit simple, she still managed to look great. Award show fitting yet comfy and casual.

Last but not least the stunningly beautiful Ariana Grande. 'The Problem' singer wore a black leather dress and thigh high boots, and I must say she looked amazing! The 21 year old then went on to open the show alongside Jessie J and Nicki Minaj and killed it!

Worst Dressed:

First up is Amber Rose. The Actress/Model/Artist topped the charts for the worst dressed of the night. Her extrememly revealing outfit makes it seem as though she's attending a beach party and not an award show.

Chloe Grace Moretz usually chooses amazing outfits to wear when she's seen out in the public eye however, last night was a different story. I love the trousers and the shoes but, I feel as though a different top would have made the outfit look a lot less dated and more suited for 2014.

Britney Spears 2.0? Katy Perry chose to do her best impression of Britney and recreated the outfit she wore with Justin Timberlake in 2001. Although Katy can pull off pretty much any outfit, she doesn't seem to do this one any justice. A more figure hugging outfit would have suited her better as her curves are amazing!

Last up is Singer/Songwriter Charli XCX. Sporting a Black and Yellow jumpsuit she manages to stand out but for the wrong reasons, a less brightly coloured outfit would have suited her skin tone a lot more and would have been more flattering. Don't get me wrong I love her and her music, but last nights outfit was a no from me (got all Simon Cowell there).

The Beauty Blogger Tag

Hello you lovely lot. Sorry I've been a bit MIA over the last few months but I'm back with 'The Beauty Blogger Tag' for you today! Hope you enjoy :)

1.) Is your hair naturally curly or straight? 

Neither. It's naturally wavyish

2.) What is your natural hair colour? 

Dark Blonde

3.) Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

Neither. I get my mom to do it as she is a hairdresser!

4.) How often do you wash your hair?

About three times a week, depending on the condition of my hair

5.) Do you wear the same hairstyle every day or change it?

I usually wear the same style everyday, but sometimes I like to switch things up and do something different with it

6.) Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

Neither. I've never had one done before

7.) How often do you change your nail polish?

I only ever wear nail polish when I can be bothered to do it. So, not very often

8.) Do you polish your toes in the winter too or just in the summer?

Both Winter and Summer

9.) How long does it take to put on your make-up?

Everyday makeup usually take 10-15 minutes if I'm keeping it minimal, If I don't keep it minimal it usually takes an extra 5 or so minutes. If I'm going out I would usually do a heavier coverage base and liquid eyeliner and maybe some eyeshadow, and with the rest of my makeup it could take anything up to about half and hour

10.) What do you do first? Face or eyes?

I always do my face first and leave my eyes until last

11.) Do you "collect" make-up or just buy what you need when you need it?

I always tend to just by makeup whenever I am need of something. However, I have started to collect makeup a little bit so that I am able to experiment with different looks

12.) How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I've never worn false eyelashes

13.) Do you wear a full face of make-up everyday?

No. I only wear full face of makeup if I am going out in the evening

14.) Do you wear make-up when you're home alone?

Only if I don't have any plans for later on in the day

15.) Will you leave the house without make-up?

Sometimes, depends how confident I'm feeling or how well my skin looks!

16.) High end or drugstore?

Drugstore is always my go-to. Although, I am beginning to like high end and may increase my collection of high end products in the future

17.) How many high end products do you own?

I have about 10 high end products

18.) How often do you wash your make-up brushes?

I try to wash them often, I just sometimes forget so roughly every month

19.) Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide on the day? 

I tend to decide on the day but, If I have to be up early the next day I tend to try and plan an outfit out the night before so that it's less hassle in the morning!

20.) What's the most important thing in life do you think?

Definitely your health and well being

21.) How tall are you? 

I am 5'7

22.) Left handed or right handed? 

I'm right handed 

23.) Do you speak a foreign language?

I can only say the odd thing in Spanish

24.) How many pets do you have?

I have two cats

25.) How often are you on blogger?

I try to check my blog as often as I can

26.) Do you read the comments posted on your blog?

Always, I love reading and replying to people's comments 

27.) Do you keep a list of products to try? 

I do, I've got a make-up wish list as long as my arm

28.) How did you come up with your blog name? 

I wanted something with my name in it and 'Miss Megan Cook' seemed to fit

29.) What is your favourite beauty/fashion magazine?

My favourite magazines are ELLE, Company and Glamour

30.) What is your favourite colour?

My favourite colour is pink
